A case in point was when the twins were taken to the Centre Island amusement park on more than one occasion. In contrast, her twin sister, Valentine, was able to enjoy a normal childhood. While that was her first operation, it was not the last, and much of Vivian's childhood was spent with her mother, going from one specialist appointment to the next. The experience, including the tears in her father's eyes (a soldier, and usually quiet and steadfast) stayed with her well into her twenties. Her first operation was around the age of 4 (or younger). Vivian was born with a rare, terminal autoimmune disease that caused her body to attack its own organs, and as such, Vivian spent much of her childhood and teenage years in and out of hospitals. Her parents got her interested in military strategy from a young age. Vivian Chase grew up in a small, tight-knit Toronto neighborhood, the daughter of ex-military parents. ![]() She similarly dislikes decaf coffee and the Vishkar Corporation. ![]() Sojourn dislikes beaches, as the sand and salt water don't agree with her cybernetics. By the Second Omnic Crisis, Sojourn's cybernetics were no longer on the cutting edge. Sojourn is at peace with her enhancements for her, her cybernetics are a means to an end, but only the objective matters. After receiving her upgrades from Mina Liao, Sojourn's strength was increased to the point that she could fight off omnics with her bare (metallic) hands. Her original cybernetics made her slightly stronger than most humans, but still weaker than even humanoid omnics. Her cybernetic upgrades have improved her speed, precision, tactical prowess. At some point, she received cybernetic brain upgrades, though these often trigger security scanners. The infra-red vision's range also increased. The second set was able to link with CSOR's intelligence network, and give her a detailed real-time view of battles, such as the location of friendly and enemy troops. Her original lenses granted her infra-red vision. Sojourn has had at least two sets of cybernetic eyes. Due to the cybernetics, she feels less pain than a normal human, given that many of her body's pain receptors were removed to make room for the upgrades. Her heart makes her pulse difficult to read, and makes it easier for her to adjust to high altitudes. Her cybernetic limbs are resilient to a wider range of temperatures than organic limbs. Even without the boosters, her cybernetic legs and artificial heart allow her to run faster and harder than un-augmented humans. Her left arm can transform into a disruptor cannon, and her legs are equipped with boosters that allow her to slide across the ground. Sojourn has had a lot of cybernetic upgrades in her life, starting out of necessity in her childhood, before moving onto voluntary upgrades. She is more of a basketball than hockey person, and is interested in taking up glass-blowing. ![]() She is known for her discipline, and is good at playing cards. She is a brilliant tactician, a great leader, and a "measure twice, cut once" type of individual. ĭedicated to the rule of law, Sojourn is detail-orientated. Never one to fight for personal glory, Sojourn has fought because she was needed, and should that need arise, Sojourn will meet it. ![]() From soldier to Overwatch captain to veteran, Sojourn has devoted her life to helping those who would be made victims by the evils of the world. Sojourn was a member of Overwatch, joining at some point in the organization's Golden Age and staying with them into their twilight years. Overclock: Auto-charges Sojourn's Railgun and causes it to pierce enemies.Disruptor Shot: Disruptor Shot is an AOE ability that will eat away their health.This allows easy repositioning of Sojourn. Power Slide: Rocket-powered slide that can be cancelled into a high leap at any time by jumping.Railgun Alt Fire: Sojourn's secondary fire uses energy stored from getting hits from primary fire.The energy Sojourn generates from her primary charges up her secondary. Railgun: Sojourn’s primary fire is a rapid projectile that generates energy on hit.Sojourn can be a difficult hero to play-the more accurate the player's aim, the more effective they're going to be with her railgun, resulting in a high skill ceiling with a lot of power weighted in her railgun’s secondary fire.
